Plot Summary
The one who can be with her forever

Ngl Their struggle is endless, and not a single soul is happy in the entire city of Dahuang. More than liking or hating, I have a truckload of pity for them... The male lead only sees the leading lady Xiaoyao as a ray of hope, and Xiaoyao, who is almost numb to the world, has doubts. She wants a man who can be kind to her forever without breaking her heart or making promises... The rest of the story is about the fast-paced politics that Cang Xuan tries to create.
Forever Missing Brother has to be the highest-quality palace drama I've watched this year. The direction and acting are worthy of praise. Tbh, I was hesitant to start this one before, but Yang Zi's performance here really surprised me. The scattered scenes, like her visiting her father in Haoling for a long time, injured by thousands of flowers, and her looking up at the stairs to look back at what she's been through, all of these scenes break my heart as much as she does. It's safe to say that this might be her best performance as an actress, as she has to show her range in her art.
As a historical drama where the female lead is still 'male' for half of the film, Yang Zi is very impressive in her part. Her Wen Xiao Liu is so convincing that it took me a few episodes to conclude that she's a woman now. I always see a man in front of her after she changes xDDD... But this is why Xiaoyao gets along with the four male characters from the beginning (expect Fenglong who sees her femininity but later admits that he is comfortable with her as a friend, which shows that he also likes her cold nature)
Let me introduce you to the choices of Princess of Haoling, Haoling Jiu Yao (Xiaoyao) —
1. Cang Xuan (I have a lot of ambition, but I do this so that I have enough strength to protect her. I love her so much, I don't mind being her brother for life if I am by her side)... Zhang Wanyi has crazy eyes with the right desires and despair in this complicated role. He is a psychopath and a warm brother that girls like. He is so interesting that I want him to play more dark roles in the future.
2. Tushan Jing (I like her, but I'm also kind, I'm good at strategy, but I still fail in life because I'm too gentle for this world)... Deng Wei's face is suitable for a handsome male lead, but he feels a little bit bad in some scenes. Maybe the experience he will get gradually even though he is good. His chemistry with FL is the kind of gentle and cute that they talk and paint and I laugh haha
3. Xiang Liu (Yes, I'm that white-haired guy, most of the time you're scolding. I'll kill and not kill for her. I wander the world in a white shirt, but come back to make fun of or bite her once every episode)... The choice of Tan Jianci for Xiang Liu is really heroic!!!!!!!! (He looks amazing ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)) He has an opinion, maybe a radical, but his deep talk, meaningless arguments, drowning have a lot of chemistry with Xiaoyao.
4. Chishui Fenglong (I met her late but I have the energy, I can promise to be with her longer, who knows?)... In front of the three above, he obviously seems less charming and prefers supporting roles instead, but I'm really excited to see his growth in S2.
While almost all the viewers have already picked their ships and started rooting for them, I'm like Xiaoyao and just enjoy the flow lol (maybe I'm heartless too :))... I used to be Jing's dog love, then I was jealous of TCJ's Xiang Liu, and now I don't choose anymore haha. Just excited for season 2 and can they release it tomorrow? Like waiting 6 months means I'll lose the emotional build I have for this now.
