Plot Summary
A story within a story within a story. It’s the unforgettable third act that makes this romance so beautiful. My first viewing, this was at best an average cliché rom-com, bewildered by its attempts at action, suspense and mystery. It wasn’t until the end that I learned about the good hidden respect for the French boy “Le Petit Prince”. A thrilling story with deep metaphors and life lessons. This is a spoiler for those like myself who are not familiar with it, but knowing is what makes this story so wonderful and interesting.
The little prince lives on a distant planet with 3 small volcanoes. He fell in love with the beautiful rose, took care of her and protected her from the wind and cold by placing her under the earth. She flirted with him, refusing to get up, until she was completely radiant. He decided to leave when he felt that she was using him. Before leaving, she apologized for not showing her love. She told him that she would try to be strong and protect herself without him. He was sad not knowing how to love her.
On his journey, he met many colorful characters, including a fox, who taught him how to love. Why to love, how to love and build trust, the responsibility of love, how to appreciate love, sometimes we have to part with love and how to cherish those memories. Yes, this is a children's story. In the end, the little prince learned how to recognize the tenderness that lies beneath her crazy pretense. She perfumed his planet and lit up his life. He wanted to return to her, but the conclusion of the story was bittersweet and poetic.
