Story: 9.5
This is no ordinary story. It is a mystery/thriller with a mysterious case. Ye Ping An uses many tricks to avenge the deaths of those who died in the cases he was involved in when he was young and to find peace. On the one hand, he gains the trust of the emperor, and on the other hand, he forms an alliance with Yuan Shao Cheng. In this way, he tries to take revenge on the cruel and powerful officials involved in the Inspector Case. At the same time, he has the support of his friends Lu Dan Xin, Cai Lian, Ni Chang, and his aunt Gu Er Niang. This is a drama without a love story, but a story of strong and intelligent women uniting against their enemies. While Ping An fights because he was deceived when he was young and caused the death of many women, Lu Dan Xin and Cai Lian are the victims of the Inspector Case.
Yuan Shao Cheng is a man who is constantly looked down upon and struggles for power because he comes from a Mang background. I admire a man who endures all kinds of humiliation to fight for his people. It is true that I hated him in the first 10 episodes. But by the end, I realized how great he is.
Wu An Kang is a general who fights on the border for his country. He is also the son of Wu You Jing, the nephew of the emperor. He is a loyal general who seeks justice for people like Ping An. I love his character and personality. At the end of the story, when he loses everything because of his father and sister's greed and ambition, I feel both sad and angry. He doesn't deserve this.
The emperor ascended to the throne at a time when women were looked down upon. Having been emperor for over ten years, Saint always tried to be fair, to help women get their rights, and to treat his people well. Saint uses people with different characters such as Ye Ping'an, Yuan Shao Cheng, and Li Jun to suppress corrupt officials in the country. I always thought Li Jun was the villain. I didn't expect him to be part of the forensic court and work for the emperor in the last episode. I think Saint did something wrong. She was really unfair to Wu An Kang. She wanted to send a man who contributed to the country and risked his life to the enemy country as a groom. When she failed in this, she tried another way. She even thought of expelling An Kang who returned from the second war. If the emperor was fair in this, I would like her even more.
I think Wu You Jing's character was not written well. As a villain, he was very ordinary. After being a mystery for a long time, he made a lot of mistakes when he appeared. He thought that his son who risked his life for the country would help him in his rebellion. And his daughter Wu Xian'er did a lot of things behind his back. Wu You Jing’s ignorance of this and her misjudgment of the Emperor’s actions make it hard to see him as a bad person. Other than that, I don’t see much wrong with this story.
In my opinion, this story is perfect. It tells the story of a strong, intelligent woman united as a man fighting for her people and a man risking his life for his country, disappointing his family. This is a masterpiece!!!
